1. You will need to know how to write a correct caption. Remember its 2 and ONLY 2 sentences long.
Caption Rules:
1. First sentence includes major information about the photo (who, what, where, when, why, how). You may make up the information for this assignment.
2. First sentence should be written in present tense as if the action of the photo is still happening.
3. Second sentence should be past tense, and should include background information.
4. Information in caption should not be obvious by looking at the photo.
5. If there are three or fewer recognizable people in the photo, you must give all of their names (you can make them up for this assignment).
6. Use strong action verbs whenever possible.


The giant panda fluffy climbs up a tree in China in search for some food to feed her cubs. These pandas are known for climbing up trees to find fresh food.

The San Francisco giants celebrate there upset win against the New York Yankees in New York. They were down the whole game and came back and took the win.

2. You will need to know all the rules of photography and be able to explain them. Here are the rules again:
1. Rule of thirds picture that is offset or not directly in the middle.
2. Balancing Elements- make the main thing of your picture glorified.
3. Leading Lines- lines that lead your eyes to the main focus
4. Symmetry and Patterns (repetition) balance shapes and make appealing to your eye
5. Viewpoint- the point where you take a picture capture the main focus.
6. Background- the outside or back of main focus
7. Create depth- have different levels of objects in the background
8. Framing the proper out line of your photo
9. Cropping- only have the main focus of your photo nothing extra.
10. Mergers and avoiding them- eliminate background things that would get your eye off main subject.
3.You will need to know and understand Aperture- brings everything into focus
Shutter Speed- slows down action and takes photo in the middle of action
ISO-Level of light and its sensitivity to the camera, low ISO less sensitive, High more sensitive.


4. You will need to be able to explain how to get to your folder on the server and how you get there. Go to Journalism drive (double click) then in the user name type "photoj" and the password is "password" then click your class period than your name.

5. You will need to know and be able to explain the ethics of manipulating photos in photoshop and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.
On your blog tell me what is acceptable and what isn't.- for photoshop if you steal a picture and change it it's not ethical but if you take your own photo without totally changing what you took the picture of than its ethical. 
6. You will need to be able to explain the three types of portraits you read about
Environmental- is of the environment and the setting of it., 
Self- is you mainly face and some body
Casual.- can be you and your everyday life.

7. You will need to be able to explain the photographic terms: 
Exposure- amount of light in each photo
Depth of Field- amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear
Focal Length- low focal length is wider while high focal length is more narrow.
